Influence of Intraoperative Blood Loss on Tumor Recurrence after Surgical Resection in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

چکیده

The high incidence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) recurrence after surgical resection worsens the long-term prognosis. Besides tumor-related factors, operative factors such as perioperative blood transfusion have been reported to be related HCC recurrence. However, excessive intraoperative loss (IBL) always necessitates transfusion, where IBL and may influence oncologic outcomes. We enrolled 142 patients with newly diagnosed single who underwent hepatic between March 2010 July 2021. Patients were stratified into two groups by volume: Group A (IBL ≥ 700 mL, n = 47) B < 95). clinic–pathologic findings, outcomes, cumulative probability tumor overall survival compared groups. In study, increased (1351 ± 698 vs. 354 166, p 0.001) (63.8% 6.3%, common in A, a greater (p poor 0.017) those B. Preoperative albumin (hazard ratio [HR], 0.471; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.244–0.907, 0.024), microvascular invasion (HR, 2.616; CI, 1.298–5.273; 0.007), mL 2.325; 1.202–4.497; 0.012) significant risk for HCC. conclusion, efforts minimize during are important improving prognosis patients.

Excessive intraoperative blood loss independently predicts recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma after liver transplantation

BACKGROUND Several studies have investigated the effect of intraoperative blood loss (IBL) on recurrence of tumors. However, the independent effect of IBL on oncological outcome after liver transplantation (LT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is unclear. METHODS A total of 479 patients who underwent LT for HCC from January 2001 to December 2012 at our institution were enrolled in this retr...

effects of antiviral therapy on the recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma after curative resection or liver transplantation

context hepatocellular carcinoma (hcc) is a fatal disease. chronic hepatitis b virus (hbv) and/or hepatitis c virus (hcv) infection is the major cause of hcc. high viral replication rate and related hepatic/systematic inflammation are the major risk factors in hcc recurrence after hepatectomy or liver transplantation. evidence acquisition some of the carcinogenesis-related hbv mutations are als...

Identification of Recurrence Related microRNAs in Hepatocellular Carcinoma after Surgical Resection

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most aggressive human cancers with a high frequency of post-surgical recurrence. It is very critical to diagnose HCC recurrence at an early stage for a better therapeutic treatment. In this study, we examined the microRNA (miRNA) expression profiling in tumor tissues obtained from early and late recurrent HCC patients post-resection, using a microarr...

Early disseminated recurrence after liver resection in solitary hepatocellular carcinoma

Purpose Although few hepatectomy patients develop unexpected early diffuse and multinodular recurrence in the remnant liver, the prognosis in such cases is often dismal. The aim of this study was to evaluate the risk factors of early disseminated multinodular hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) recurrence within 3 months after liver resection for solitary HCC. Methods Eighty-four patients who were...

Intraoperative Blood Loss Independently Predicts Survival and Recurrence after Resection of Colorectal Cancer Liver Metastasis

BACKGROUND Although numerous prognostic factors have been reported for colorectal cancer liver metastasis (CRLM), few studies have reported intraoperative blood loss (IBL) effects on clinical outcome after CRLM resection. METHODS We retrospectively evaluated the clinical and histopathological characteristics of 139 patients who underwent liver resection for CRLM. The IBL cutoff volume was cal...
